Which book or movie has had the biggest impact on you?

Some stories stick with us long after we've finished them. Has there been a book or film that changed the way you think or feel about something? I'd love to hear which one and why it affected you.
 
The Shawshank Redemption was an incredibly deep movie. It has made plenty of people think. Has anyone on here seen it? It used to be played on TV all the time. I pretty much have memorized the lines, lol.
