What’s Your Favorite Apps or Tools?

We all use apps or tools that make life more easier, more productive, or just for plain fun. I know quite a lot of people who can't do without their productivity app and I have also come across people who like social media apps specifically for entertainment. What are your favorite apps or tools...

    What's Your Current Obsession?

I think there is something that we cannot stop thinking about. It can be a game, a hobby, a new show, or even a skill you are learning. What is your current passion, and how do you feel about it? i For me, I have recently been obsessed with retro games, searching for the classics again and again.

    Preventing Mobile Phone Spam

I have a third-party app that notify me of any suspected spam calls. It is not 100% effective, but it does block a large number of calls. Reporting spam numbers is what helps everyone in the long run. The name of the app is Truecaller, I don't know if it works in your country.

    Forum and Blog Hacking

Other than 2FA and strong passwords, I ensure that all my plugins and themes are current. Hackers usually get in through an outdated version. Besides, keeping good backups means that if anything goes wrong, you can get back on your feet quickly.

    Have You Been Scammed Online

I too fell for online scams once with a fake e-commerce site. I paid for a gadget that never arrived, and the site was down within a week. I now double-check reviews and payment security before I buy anything.

Story About a Stolen Paycheck of $114,000

This is crazy!!! Just like that, $114,000 gone! I think the banks should put in a higher verification check when big checks are to be cashed. A verification to confirm from the issuer can also be done through a digital platform. I think the banks should no this already.

    Dogecoin on the rise!

To me, Dogecoin is a meme coin rather than a serious thing to invest in. Most of the time, it follows bitcoin trends. But it's too volatile to be a long-term investment. I would only gamble what I can afford to lose on it.

I taught myself basic programming skills. Though I got a few materials here and there but I had no mentor. I practiced until I could do it perfectly. I plan to proceed to a more advanced language later on.

    My Experience with Phone Fraud

One day, somebody called me and said she was from my bank's fraud department. She sounded convincing and even had part of my account details and my BVN( Bank Verification Number). Thank goodness I hung up and when I called my bank myself, they said it was a scam.

How often should you update your passwords, and what makes a password truly secure?

In my case, a strong password has to be long, random, and unique for every site I use. I use a password manager because remembering all of them is rather impossible. And I do change my password immediately I'm notified of any breach.

Has Your Social Media Account Ever Been Hacked

Yes, my Instagram was hacked back in the day. The hacker changed the email and number, so recovering it was a nightmare. I had to go through the craziness of proving I was indeed the owner before I got it back, but from then on, I've learned to take 2FA seriously on all my accounts.

Identity Theft Protection - Yes or No?

Personally, I see identity theft protection as a safety net. It cannot do so much to prevent it totally but can help you with the cleanup much faster once it has happened. Personally, I would rather focus on being safe with my information.
