Has Your Social Media Account Ever Been Hacked

Recently, facebook account of my relative was hacked. he was able to get back the account in an hour but by that time enough damages had already been done. The hacker sent money request to my relative's friends and was able to get the money. The case has been reported to police but the hacker hasn't been tracked yet. Thankfully something like this hasn't happened to me yet.

That happened to me too.. few years back Someone tried to hack my FB account but failed to get in. Facebook sent me notifications about suspicious login attempts from weird locations. I immediately changed my password and turned on two-factor authentication after that. Pretty scary knowing someone was actively trying to break in though..

Someone posing as me wrote rude messages to other people. Anyway, to prevent this now, I don't open suspicious things along with strong passwords.

However, with phone checks, I'd say hacking cases have went down

Yes, my Instagram was hacked back in the day. The hacker changed the email and number, so recovering it was a nightmare. I had to go through the craziness of proving I was indeed the owner before I got it back, but from then on, I've learned to take 2FA seriously on all my accounts.
