My Experience with Phone Fraud

I had an auto insurance policy and these criminals impersonated employees working for the company. I almost fell for it, but later I checked the actual company and found out I didn't owe what these fake people said I owed

Anyway, I soon blocked those callers and I was amazed they were able to try to scam me like that.

Has anyone had a similar experience? How might these crooks have gotten my info?

Thankfully, I haven't been in a situation like this. But I have been scammed with insurance related scam. I encountered an accident and this guy said he will help me get the coverage through third party insurance. He took my money but did not help with the insurance coverage.

No.. I haven't experienced that specific scam but it sounds really scary how convincing they were. They probably got your info from data breaches, public records, or even bought it from other scammers. . These criminals are getting more sophisticated, but at least you caught it in time.

Did he take a lot? Sorry this happened to you. Did you try to get justice?

One day, somebody called me and said she was from my bank's fraud department. She sounded convincing and even had part of my account details and my BVN( Bank Verification Number). Thank goodness I hung up and when I called my bank myself, they said it was a scam.

Yeah, always double check with the official phone number of the company. You can't go wrong there.
