I think Gmail does a decent job at filtering spam into the spam folder. If you set up additional rules and such for additional filtering, you will rarely see spam make it to your inbox.

I never thought about additional rules. That's good to know.

I think Gmail is pretty secured when it comes to blocking spams. One of the reasons why I stopped using Yahoo or Outlook mail because of too many spam emails.

I usually rely on the built-in spam filters and regularly mark unwanted emails as spam to train the system. I'll unsubscribe from real companies but never click unsubscribe on obvious scam emails. Gmail and Outlook definitely seem way better at blocking spam than the cheaper email services.

One thing I've noticed is that I can minimize that kind of issue by having one email for certain important accounts and not having many eggs in one basket. This way, my main inbox rarely gets spam messages.
